On 9th August Women in Action launched its theme campaign for 2011 – awareness of human trafficking. The project’s aims are twofold: . To spread awareness about the subject and . To raise
donations in support of NGO’s working in this field Day after day WiA strives to reach its goals.
We have raised the sum of R 35,000 (Thirty five thousand Rand) which was handed over to Mrs. Khanyi Motsa, director of the Hillbrow / Berea Home of Hope.
Mama Khanyi has been working for the past 11 years on the rehabilitation of young girls rescued from abuse and sex slavery. She has counted about 8,000 who have been under her care, young women who found shelter, comfort and a new perspective on life through Mrs Khanyi’s hard work, love and commitment. At the moment she is looking after 56 young women who are attending school.
