LAUNCH OF SAVE A TAMAR - CAPE TOWN

I am glad to share with you that on May 8th, 2012, the Women in Action group of Pastor’s wives, in the Western Cape launched its Save a Tamar seminar. This seminar is designed to help women who have been affected by abuse or have been a victim of abuse, whether it was emotional, physical or even verbal abuse. The workshop is presented by trained WiA counselors who aim to help these women get back their lives, confidence and power, which was lost due to the abuse they suffered in the hands of their abusers.
We encouraged the women present not to allow their abuse experience to be the defining factor on how they see themselves, as they are beautiful and should not allow any such experience to tell them otherwise.
It was a great experience to all our volunteers who were more than happy to be available to help and make a difference in the lives of those who came.
Personally speaking it was a blessing to me, the fact that I was able to help them with words of Faith, prayer and counseling , made me realize how important this work is, not only to these women but to all of us volunteers. I was really shocked to see how many women are victims of abuse, after the meeting, many came for counseling and some of them could only cry without saying a word.

The work of the WIA is very important because there are many people who are paid to do this and yet they just do for the sake of money, not for the passion of souls. The WIA is different, I believe that there are many women out there who long to share their pain with someone who actually cares and that's where the WIA comes in. Many women are suffering in silence and with the help of WIA they will finally be able to just let go and be free.
