Wia Walks on

Once more the ladies of WiA had an opportunity to show their support and help to raise awareness of breast cancer by taking part in the Avon Justine iThemba Crusade of Hope Walkathon 2010, which was held on October 17th. This was the fifth year of the Walkathon, which was led by a group of breast cancer survivors from Bosom Buddies and what a turn out there was – more than15,000!

The event commenced from the Marks Park Sports Complex in Auckland Park. Participants had the opportunity to choose the 5km or 8km walk. WiA took part in the 8km, showing total dedication in everything they did.

Though they were all exhausted and aching at the end of the walk, they enjoyed themselves.

Participants from WiA were: Pinky, Joann, Faith, Thembani, Linda, Fikile, Donna and Chabi.

Women in Action are always making us proud by the work that they are doing. And i received an email from a lady who asked how can she be part of the WiA and that made me realise that the work that is being done really is changing peoples lives, not Physically also Spiritually. I love this group, keep up the good work Bomme, halala!!!
